The Reverse Spider Plant flips the classic coloring. Where the standard Spider Plant has green leaves with a white center stripe, this one is the opposite — a creamy white or pale yellow center with green edges. The effect is different: brighter, more graphic, with a quality that catches light in a way the standard variety doesn't. It's the same plant, reframed.
Chlorophytum comosum 'Reverse' has the same easy, adaptable character as all Spider Plants — it grows readily, tolerates a wide range of light conditions, and produces the same arching stems with little plantlets that the original is famous for. Those plantlets (called spiderettes) dangle from long stems and can be potted on once they've developed a few roots, making this one of the most propagatable plants you can own.
This is a plant for people who appreciate a fresh take on a classic.
Why You'll Love It
The Reverse Spider Plant has a brightness to it that works especially well in lower light spaces — the pale center catches available light and reflects it back, giving the plant a luminous quality that makes it feel more alive in dim conditions. It's also one of the best plants for air purification, one of the easiest to propagate, and one of the most reliable performers in any indoor space. It's a genuinely good plant.

Good to Know
Brown leaf tips are common on Spider Plants and are almost always caused by fluoride or chlorine in tap water, or low humidity. Switching to filtered water and trimming the brown tips with clean scissors keeps the plant looking tidy. Spiderettes can be potted once they develop small roots at the base — place them in moist potting mix and they establish quickly.
